Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Verity ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you do not have permission to use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users, including free-tier users, Pro subscribers, and enterprise customers.
Service Description
Verity is a dictation and transcription application that converts speech to text using server-side speech-to-text processing with zero audio retention. The Service includes:
- Real-time speech-to-text transcription
- AI-assisted text formatting and polish
- Transcript history and cross-device sync (account required)
- Desktop applications for macOS, Windows, and Linux
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice.
User Obligations
By using Verity, you agree to:
- Provide accurate account information
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or misuse the Service
- Not use the Service to generate, store, or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
You retain full ownership of all content you create using Verity. We claim no intellectual property rights over your transcripts or recordings.
Payment Terms
Free-tier features are available without payment. Pro features require a paid subscription.
Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis. Verity does not store your payment card details.
- Billing cycle: Monthly or annual, as selected at checkout
- Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
- Refunds: Request a full refund within 30 days of any charge, no questions asked (see §4.5 of the full Terms)
Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verity's total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time:
- You: Delete your account from the app settings at any time. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Verity: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
Upon termination, all licences granted under these Terms cease immediately. Sections on Limitation of Liability and Contact survive termination.
