Verity Brand & Trademark Usage Policy — Verity Software Inc.

This policy explains how third parties may — and may not — use the Verity™ name and logo. We publish it so journalists, integrators, reviewers, developers, partners, and customers know what is permitted without asking, and where to write when permission is needed.

If anything below is unclear, write to [email protected] before using our marks.

1. Our marks

"Verity™" (the word mark) and the Verity logo (the design mark) are trademarks of Verity Software Inc., a Quebec corporation. We ask that third parties use the ™ symbol when they reference our marks.

2. Permitted nominative fair use

You do not need our permission to:

  • Refer to "Verity" by name in articles, blog posts, reviews, tutorials, comparison pieces, social-media posts, podcasts, conference talks, or academic writing.
  • Use the name to accurately identify our product, our company, or our services — including in compatibility statements ("works with Verity™"), integration documentation, and product reviews.
  • Quote short excerpts from our public website and documentation, and link to https://verityapp.io and our public legal pages.
  • Use the name in honest, factual commentary, criticism, or news reporting.

This is classic nominative fair use: telling your readers what you are talking about. We encourage it.

3. Required attribution

When you use the Verity name in commercial materials (paid advertising, product packaging, partner marketing, sponsored content, app-store listings, integration marketplaces), please include the following attribution on first reference:

Verity is a trademark of Verity Software Inc.

In non-commercial contexts (independent blogs, news articles, reviews, academic work), attribution is appreciated but not required.

4. Logo usage

When you display the Verity logo:

  • Don't modify it. No recoloring, redrawing, distorting, rotating, adding effects, animating, or combining it with other marks.
  • Maintain clear-space around the logo equal to the height of the "V" in the wordmark on all four sides. Nothing — text, other logos, image edges, borders — should intrude on that space.
  • Respect minimum size. Do not display the logo smaller than 24 px tall on screen or 0.25 in / 6 mm tall in print.
  • Don't use it as your own branding. The Verity logo is not free for use as your product's logo, favicon, app icon, social-media avatar, profile picture, header image, or merchandise.
  • Don't lock it up with your own marks in a way that implies a joint product, sub-brand, or co-venture.

Logo files, color tokens, and typography are available on our Brand Guidelines page. For additional formats or custom arrangements, write to [email protected].

5. Prohibited uses

The following uses of the Verity marks are not permitted without a prior written agreement with Verity Software Inc.:

  • Confusingly similar product, company, domain, or handle names that incorporate "Verity" or a confusingly similar string in the dictation, transcription, or AI productivity category.
  • Claiming partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or affiliation with Verity Software Inc. when none exists.
  • Misleading, defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal use of the marks — including phishing, impersonation, fake support channels, fake app-store listings, or counterfeit installers.
  • Use against us. Don't use our marks in competitive advertising in a way that misrepresents our product, in disparaging materials, or to suggest a relationship that would tarnish the mark.
  • Domain, social-handle, app-store-listing, package-registry, or marketplace registration that incorporates "Verity" or a confusingly similar string, without our written permission. This applies to TLDs, sub-domains, app names, npm/PyPI package names, and similar identifiers.
  • Trademark, design-mark, or business-name filings that incorporate "Verity" in our product category (dictation, transcription, AI productivity software, SaaS) anywhere in the world.

We monitor these uses and will pursue takedowns, UDRP / URS domain disputes, app-store removal requests, registry suspensions, and other remedies where appropriate.

6. Licensing inquiries

If you would like to use the Verity name or logo in a way this policy does not already permit — co-marketing, partner badging, merchandise, conference sponsorship, educational use, journalist press kit, anything else — write to:

[email protected]

Please include: who you are, what you want to do, where the use will appear, the duration, and any creative mockups. We try to respond within 10 business days.

7. App-store branding

Our app-store listings (Apple App Store, Google Play, and any other distribution channels) follow each store's brand and metadata guidelines. The product name on store listings is "Verity" with an approved tagline.

We do not use Apple's, Google's, or any other platform's trademarks in our store metadata, screenshots, or marketing except where each platform's own brand guidelines explicitly permit (for example, the "Download on the App Store" badge under Apple's Marketing Resources, or the "Get it on Google Play" badge under Google's brand guidelines).

If you publish a third-party integration with Verity in any app store, follow §2–§5 above and the host store's own trademark rules.

8. Reporting infringement

If you see someone misusing the Verity marks — counterfeit apps, lookalike domains, phishing pages impersonating us, fake support accounts, unlicensed merchandise, deceptive advertising — please tell us.

Write to [email protected] with:

  • Screenshots (or archived links via web.archive.org where possible)
  • The URL, app-store listing, social handle, or other identifier
  • The date and time you observed the use
  • Any context you have about who is behind it

We treat infringement reports seriously and will act on credible reports promptly.

This policy describes how Verity Software Inc. permits third parties to use our marks; it does not create any contract, license, or partnership unless we sign one with you. Verity Software Inc. reserves all rights in the Verity name and logo, and reserves the right to update this policy with 30 days' notice.
