Biometric Data Retention & Destruction Policy.

2. What we collect

Verity captures audio via your device microphone during recording sessions. The audio is processed to produce a text transcript. Under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14) and equivalent state laws, voice data used to identify individuals may constitute biometric information.

3. Purpose of collection

Audio is collected solely to generate, display, and (where enabled) enhance the text transcript of your recording session. It is not used to build voice profiles, train third-party models, or identify individuals beyond the scope of transcription.

4. Retention schedule

Raw audio is not retained on Verity servers after transcription is complete — processing occurs transiently and the audio stream is discarded.

Transcripts (text only, not audio) are retained as follows:

• Free accounts: 30 days from the date of recording.
• Paid accounts: Until you delete the transcript or close your account.
• Maximum: In no case longer than 3 years from your last interaction with Verity, regardless of plan.

5. Destruction method

Transcripts are permanently deleted from Verity's databases and any associated backups within 30 days of the applicable retention deadline. Deletion is irreversible.

6. Your rights

You may request early deletion of your transcripts at any time by contacting [email protected]. We will respond within 20 business days. You may also delete individual recordings directly within the Verity app.

7. No sale or disclosure

Verity does not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric data. Audio and transcript data are shared only with sub-processors necessary to provide the transcription service (listed in our Sub-Processors appendix), under contractual data-protection obligations.
